support group for sufferers of Rheumatoid Arthritis has
just celebrated its first birthday with a party and
social event in Hethersett Village Hall. To read about

Old
Hall School Open Day and Summer Picnic - Hethersett
Old Hall School will be holding an open evening on
Wednesday, 6th May from 6 until 8 p.m. Prospective
parents and pupils will be given the chance to look
round the school and tour the grounds and facilities. There
will also be an opportunity to meet staff and pupils.

will be holding its fifth annual picnic concert on
Friday 3rd July from 7 until 11 p.m. Live music will be
provided by the Jonathan Wyatt Big Band and the Emma
Hall Band. Those attending can either take their own
picnic or buy food and drink from the licensed bar and
barbecue. Tickets are £12.50 or

Parade - Scouts
from throughout South Norfolk gathered in Hethersett on
Sunday April 26th to celebrate St George's Day. Hundreds
of scouts assembled at Hethersett Old Hall School before
marching through parts of the village to Hethersett High
School for an afternoon of activities.
Triple
Final Joy for Footballers -
Hethersett Athletic Football Club faces a hectic end to
the season with three cup finals coming up. The club's
Saturday side has already won the Crown Fire South and
Central Norfolk League Division Four title by at least
14 points. Now they are turning their attention to the
final of the Fen Regis Invitation Cup at Aldiss Park,
Dereham, on Wednesday 29th April (7.30 p.m kick off) and
the final of the Ben Smith Memorial Trophy on Bank
Holiday Monday, 4th May at the same venue at 10.30 a.m.
The club's women's team will be playing in the Eastern
Region Women's League Cup Final at Soham FC on Sunday,

Murder
at the WI -
Tickets are on sale for the next production by
Hethersett Players drama group - a murder mystery
evening which will run on three nights from June 25th to
27th. A seemingly ordinary evening at the WI will take a
nasty turn in Claire Johes' play "More Deadly
Than". The audience will be asked to work out the
identity of the murderer through clues delivered during
the performance. Tables for up to eight people can be

Historic
Weekend for Cricketers -
It will be an historic weekend for Hethersett and Tas
Valley Cricket Club when they make their debut in two of
the county's premier tournaments. On Saturday (May 2nd)
they take on Horsford Seconds in their first ever match
in the Norfolk Alliance. They gained promotion to the
leagues third division after winning Division One of the
Norfolk League last season. The following day they make
their debut in the prestigious Bob Carter Knock-out Cup
with a home tie against Bradfield. Saturday's game
starts at the club's Flordon headquarters at 1.30 p.m
and the Carter Cup 60 overs a side game begins on Sunday

Party for Duncan -
There was a surprise for veteran writer and producer
Duncan Pigg when over 120 people turned up for a special
thank you surprise party to mark his 40 year association

Family History -
A free introductory talk for beginners wanting to trace
their family tree is being given at Hethersett Library
from 2-3 p.m on Tuesday 12th May by staff from the
