CHAMPIONS
| Hethersett
Athletic Ladies Football Club have won the Eastern
Region Women's Division One title after beating
Chelmsford Ladies 7-0 at Easton College. With the league
title safely in the bag they now turn their attention to
cup matches with a League Cup quarter-final against Cambridge City on
March 11th and a Two Counties Cup Semi-Final against
Norwich City Racers on March 18th. For further details

Pantomime
Donations
This
year’s Hethersett pantomime, “Jack and the Beanstalk,”
raised over £4,400 for local charities. A
bucket collection at the end of each performance raised £2,035
for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. In
addition £300 has been sent to Hethersett Parish Church, Little
Melton Church, Hethersett Methodist Church and Wymondham Roman
Catholic Church. Cheques for £300
have also been presented to the Norfolk and Norwich University
Hospital towards its heart surgery facility appeal and the
Hethersett Doctors’ surgery towards a new defibrillator. Local
youngster Juliana Ball was also given a donation towards her
proposed trip to work in Africa. Writer
and Producer Duncan Pigg said he was delighted with the outcome:
“I am very pleased with the result. It was the best response we
have had,” he said.

The Heat Is On
The Hethersett
Environmental Action Team is urging homeowners to
"think green" in the battle to combat global
warming. For more details click here.

Christmas
Cheer
The
annual Christmas display by Hethersett’s Margaret and
Tony Dunton raised £270 this year from donations. Over
the past decade the couple have brightened up the festive
season in Firs Road with a colourful display of Christmas
figures and lights in their front garden.They
have sent £100 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance appeal
and £270 for the local doctors’ surgery equipment
appeal.

Dancing Together
Hethersett
Churches together organised a barn dance with music
provided by Shenanikins Folk Band at Little Melton Village
Hall. As well as raising funds for the group, a raffle
resulted in a donation for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Victoria is Africa
Bound
Local dentist Victoria Rushton will be
on her way this month for two weeks with United Kingdom
dentists and nurses working in Tanzania. To read about

who lives in Little Melton is a member of Hethersett
Methodist Church.

Another
Cut in Services?
There
are plans to cut out the evening bus service to and from the
village which seems a nonsense as new houses and the population
grows. If you feel strongly about this issue please e-mail

Panto is a Classic
| This year's
Hethersett pantomime - Jack and the Beanstalk - is a
classic and one of the best in the Pantomime Group's
unbeaten run of productions that stretches back to 1970.

Classic Car in Hethersett
| A
few weeks ago we featured coachtrimmer Nick Fulcher and
his son Stephen working on a Lotus Elise. Now the couple
have turned their attentions to one of the most infamous

Allotment
Idea
The
village is looking at the possibility of having allotments. A
working group entitled Hethersett Allotments Renaissance Project
(HARP) has been set-up following a number of enquiries from
residents. The group will be looking at the feasibility of
having allotments in the village.
Church
Shut for Improvement Work
Hethersett
Parish Church will be shut for the next three months whilst
internal improvements are made. To read about the latest
