Changing
Face of the Village- Eighteen
new homes, along with play space and public car parking,
are being built on this land in Great Melton Road in the
centre of the village. Planning permission for the
development was granted despite objections from local
residents. Planning permission was subject to trees
being protected and the inclusion of the play area and
pubic car parking. The former house and outbuildings on
the site have been demolished.
Ladies
March On - Hethersett
Athletic Ladies Team moved 13 points clear at the top of
the Eastern Region Premier Division with a 2-0 win over
Bedford Ladies. The team have four matches left to play
and four wins would give them the title and promotion to
the third tier of ladies soccer. For a full report and

The
HEAT Is On - Our
photographer caught up with members of the Hethersett
Environmental Action Team at the beginning of March as
they gave a flower bed in Kett's Close a makeover. To view

Friends
Group A Step Nearer - The
setting up of a Friends of Woodcote group moved a step nearer
following an "enthusiastic" meeting at the sheltered
housing complex on February 28th. To read about the meeting click

Working
for Indian Chidren - A
special evening with an Indian theme was held at Hethersett
Methodist Church with the Rev Pat Atkinson talking about her
work with street children in Southern India. To read the full

here. The event raised over £450 for the Vidiyal charity
working in India and Sri Lanka.

Shale-Lot -Hethersett
Hawks Cycle Speedway Club continued their preparation for
the coming season with the delivery of 30 tons of shale
which has been spread on the track at the Memorial Playing
Field ahead of the new season which starts at Easter.
