Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club
toasted a triple success at their annual presentation evening
and bonfire party on November 5th, 2005.
The first and second teams both won their
respective divisions of the Norfolk Cricket League and the club
also won the Ken Ottoway 20-20 Knockout Trophy.
The player of the year award went to first
team skipper Matt Ellis for outstanding performances with both
the bat and ball and the Tony Curson Clubman of the Year Award
went to Tim Shelley for his outstanding contribution to the club
both on and off the field.
Awards were as follows: Third team -
Batting, Alan Pulsford; Bowling, Matt Steward. Second team -
Batting, Nick Burrett; Bowling, Geoff Chapple. First team -
Batting, Matt Steward; Bowling, Matt Ellis.
Batting Cup, Matt Ellis; Bowling Cup, Geoff
Chapple; Best performance, James Curson and Richard Ellis for
their opening stand of 90 under difficult conditions against Old
Catton; Most Improved Player, Russell Cooper; Catching Cup
(excluding wicketkeepers), Tim Shelley and Matt Ellis; Catching
Cup (including wicketkeepers), Rob Mitchell; Duck Cup, Tim
Bolderstone, Alan Bolderstone and Daniel Spanton; Young Player
of the Year, Nick Burrett; Player of the Year, Matt Ellis.
In addition to the club awards, Nick
Burrett was also named the Norfolk League's Under-19 batsman of
the year.
Money raised from the evening will go
towards a new shower and ladies toilet block on the clubhouse.
