Science in a Box for Students

A top Norwich Department store will be hosting a special exhibition by GCSE students from Hethersett High School for two weeks from October 29th

Students and staff from the school are combining with scientists from the Norwich Research Park and Jarrold’s Department Store for a “Science and Art in a Box” exhibition.

Their interpretations on the theme of “All things connect – Are we just a piece of the puzzle?” will be featured in a series of wooden boxes on display in the store.

It will be the third year the successful scheme has been run as a collaboration between the high school and the research park and the first year that Jarrold’s has been involved. “Science and Art in a Box” is one of the many community events created and organised as part of an established educational events programme at Hethersett High School and Science College.

Previous questions students and scientists responded to were, “How will GM (Genetic Modification) influence the future of our planet?” and “What would it be like if people could live forever?” One visitor to an exhibition remarked “The maturity of some of the thought processes is a tribute to the pupils, staff & scientists.”
