Cricket Club AGM

Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club will be running four adult and three junior teams in 2012, the clubís annual meeting heard. 

Youth sides will be fielded at Under-11, Under-13 and Under-17 levels with two menís Saturday sides playing in the Norfolk Alliance, one in the Norfolk League and a Sunday side playing in the Mid Norfolk Sunday League as well as friendly matches. The club is also hoping to plan a tour during the summer, although a venue still has to be finalised. 

Treasurer Susan Ellis reported a healthy balance with the club making a small profit over the past season with bar takings showing a welcome increase. The club decided to keep membership fees at £30 (juniors £5) and match fees at £6 for the first team and £5 for other teams. 

Chairman Tony Smith reported on a 2011 season that had been highly enjoyable and which had seen the club obtain the coveted national ECN Clubmark award. 

Officers elected were: Chairman, Tony Smith; Vice-Chairman, David Johnson; President, Duncan Pigg; Vice-President, Harold Kerslake; Secretary and Fixtures Secretary, Richard Ellis; Treasurer, Susan Ellis; Cricket Development Officer, Zena Wilson; Club Development Officer, Peter Steward; First Team Captain, Matthew Ellis; Second Team Captain, Steven Hayes; Third Team captain, Dale Clarke; Sunday Team captains, Jack Smith and Robbie Matthews. Groundsman, Richard Ellis; Bar Managers, Tony Smith and Glen Wilson; Auditor, David Johnson. 

Youth Team Managers Ė Under-11s, Stuart Cooper; Under-13s, Craig Henderson; Under-17s Glen Wilson and Robbie Matthews; Director of Youth Cricket, Rennie Broughton. 

The club is looking for new players to strengthen both its first and second elevens. Winter nets have been organised for Wymondham Leisure Centre on January 28th from 5.30 to 7 p.m, 11th February from 5.30 to 7 p.m, 25th February from 5.30 to 7 p.m and 24th March from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. Prospective new players will be most welcome.
