Presentation Time

Hethersett’s Yvonne School of Dance held a presentation and Group Medal Examination Day at the Walter Roy Theatre at the Hewett School in Norwich.

The afternoon consisted of group medal performances staged in full costume. Over 100 pupils were involved with the performances watched by a live audience and UTD examiners.

At the end of the day certificates and special awards were presented to pupils who had taken examinations over the past two years.

Awards for the highest overall achievement went to: Juvenile section – Rosie Watts, Charley Bond and Samantha House. Junior section – Megan Tovey, Sophie Cooke and Kirsty Howard. Senior section – Katy Walker, Joanna Keane and Harriet Parsons.

Highest mark in single subjects: Ballet, Joanna Keane; Tap, Molly Howes; Modern, Katie Andrews; Acrobatic, Katy Walker.

UTD Awards of excellence went to Katie Andrews and Freya Cooper

This event raised funds for the Hethersett Dance Show fund, which was set up in 1987. Money raised by the fund goes towards costuming pupils of the dance school for their bi – annual school productions at  Norwich Theatre Royal. Fund-raising for the shows starts 18 months before the production and several events are being planned before the next show in 2008.
