Fifth Village Garage Sale Hethersett people took
to the highways and byways of the village for the fifth annual garage sale
organised by the Friends of Hethersett High School and Science College. Over 80 garages opened
their doors for business and these were augmented by a car boot and table top
sale at the village hall where maps were on sale to guide members of public to
the relevant garages. Funds raised from the
event will go towards stage lighting equipment at the school. The very active
Friends group will be turning its attention to a second garage sale – this
time at Mulbarton on 21st September. Already this year the group
has raised £650 from a quiz evening and another is planned for 22nd
November. Items purchased by the
Friends recently include display boards, a vacuum forming machine, a foam
making machine, a camcorder and a CD player for the Modern Foreign Languages
Department.
