Garage Sale Success

The Friends of Hethersett High School’s annual garage sale combined with the heatwave to bring people onto the streets of the village.

Afterwards organisers said it had been one of the most successful sales in the event’s history with £858.37 being raised for school funds. An impressive set of figures saw 87 individual garage sales all over the village, 17 car boot sales in the village hall car park and eight table top sales in the hall itself.

The amount raised was augmented by booking fees, the sale of trail maps and refreshments.

“We had a really great day and would like to say a big thank to everyone who took part, and those who came along on the day to the various sales,” said one of the organisers Sue Tuckwood.

It was the seventh garage sale to be held in Hethersett and the Friends’ also hold a similar event annually in Mulbarton with this years taking place on Sunday, 19th September. People wanting to take part in this should contact Clare on 01508 570179.
