Go Green Survey Householders
in Hethersett are being surveyed to see how green they have been in 2008. During the year the
Hethersett Green Village group under the auspices of Hethersett Parish Council
has introduced a number of initiatives including the distribution of free
re-usable cloth bags, the issue of a leaflet about carbon footprint reduction,
the organisation of an information day in the village hall and encouraging
local businesses to have a plastic bag free day. “Many people will
know about the green projects that have been undertaken in the village. Now we
would like to know what steps people have taken and also what they think about
what we have done already and what else we as a village could do. We are
hoping for more ideas for projects,” said leading Hethersett
environmentalist George Beckford. The survey is being
distributed as part of Hethersett Parish Council’s December newsletter. The
survey also asks for comments about the Green Village group and whether the
steps already taken have been worthwhile. Special green village collecting
boxes for responses have been set-up in the library, the post office, Tescos
and at the village hall. Responses can also be e-mailed.
