Youngsters from Old Hall School, Hethersett, are looking to encourage local children to visit Hethersett Library over the Easter period to take part in a Spring quiz.
The pupils from Year One have put together the free quiz which will be available at the Library and entries are welcome from youngsters aged 12 and under. Answer sheets can be left at the library or taken to Old Hall School during office hours where those handing them in will receive an Easter gift. All correct answers will be entered into a draw to win either a Hethersett Teddy Bear or an Easter Egg. Closing date is 26th April.
The quiz is all about Spring. The children thought about the changes that take place around them in Spring and then painted colourful pictures and added a question based on them. The paintings and list of questions will be on display in the library.
It is hoped that the competition will encourage children to go to the library and borrow books at the same time. “One of the children in my class went recently, registered at the library for the first time and borrowed a book. The event also fitted in with a special book day when pupils at Old Hall dressed up as book characters,” said organiser Janet Halford. Some of the Book Day children are pictured above.
