Hot Stuff The
Heat is on again in Hethersett. The
Hethersett Environmental Action Team (HEAT) has obtained support from a major
green group to launch an energy saving project in the village. Support
from the Energy Saving Trust’s Green Communities programme will aid a survey
of household energy usage in the village, The
latest newsletter from HEAT, which is being distributed throughout the
village, will include an energy usage survey form. In addition HEAT team
members and representatives from the Energy Saving Trust will be in Hethersett
Library on 6th March from 11.30 a.m until 1 p.m for a special
information event. HEAT
members will also be involved in a coming community planning event to discuss
proposed major development in the village. This will take place on 19th
and 20th March when members of the local community will be given
the chance to put forward their views. The
latest newsletter also includes the second in a series of village walks: “We
have received favourable comments on the first walk and it has been suggested
that a village walking group might be set up for people who might not
otherwise do the walks,” the newsletter states. Anyone interested in joining
or organising a group should contact leading HEAT member and Hethersett Parish
Councillor Gary Wyatt on 01603 811592. This year’s Hethersett
open gardens event will take place on 11th July from 10 a.m until 4
p.m. Villagers interested in opening their gardens to the public should
contact HEAT member Heather Williamson on 01603 812001. The next HEAT meeting
will be on 31st March at 8 p.m in the upstairs room at Hethersett Methodist
Church and the next village litter pick will be on 10th April from
