More Dates for HEAT Hethersett’s Environmental Action Team is turning up the HEAT with a number of events over the next few months. Dates have also been set for next year's Hethersett in Bloom competition and Open Gardens Scheme. The group’s next litter pick will take place on Saturday, 27th October and members old and new are being invited along to help tidy up the village. Equipment is supplied and the group sets off from the Methodist Church at 10 a.m. This date will be followed by the group’s next meeting in the Methodist Church Hall on 31st October at 8 p.m when the public are again invited along to find out all about HEAT. The group will be planting bulbs on October 6th in the Church Farm and Old Hall School areas and there are also plans to site nest and hedgehog boxes at various places in the village. The group has also organised a compost day on September 22nd when compost will be spread at strategic areas throughout the village. Volunteers are required to mix the compost on Friday 14th September at the home of HEAT member George Beckford at 28 Grove Road from 2 p.m. Looking further ahead, the judging for next year’s Hethersett in Bloom competition will take place on Saturday 14th June, 2008 and the village open gardens scheme will be on Sunday 29th June.
