HETHERSETT HIGH FLYERS

Hethersett High School motto `Aiming High Achieving Together ‘is certainly the case for Lydia and Grace MacDougall (pictured above). These 16 year old twins achieved a fantastic 23 A* and 3 A grades between them.

As they celebrated their achievements Grace said `I’m so happy and grateful, I can’t believe it and I am thrilled with my results.’ Lydia  added that she had been `dreaming of these grades’ and was thrilled that ‘Hethersett had helped her actually achieve them’.

However, Grace and Lydia were not the only good news stories and it was smiles all round as the students of Hethersett High celebrated record examination results. 80% of students gained 5 A*-C grades with 71% achieving 5A*-C including English and Maths.

Headteacher Kerry Jordan believes that the “extremely high expectations staff have of students and the consistent monitoring of achievement has made a real difference to the outcomes for our young people.”

“As a school we pride ourselves on being just the right size, able to offer a range of opportunities but small enough to ensure no one gets overlooked. Practically, this means our Year 11 students benefit from personal mentoring and having staff who really know them and are able to work with them to bring out their best as these results demonstrate.

“These excellent results reflect not only the hard work of the students and staff but the ethos of high achievement for all that runs throughout the school. Congratulations to all our students and best wishes for the future," Ms Jordan said.
