The following Media Release was put together by Hethersett High School:
OfSted inspectors found that Hethersett High School is a school where students feel happy and safe, and where they benefit from high-quality support. They said Hethersett High School is a satisfactory school which is improving and making sound progress. The majority of the 27 specific judgements made were rated at good; none were rated unsatisfactory. The inspectors commented that students leave the school well prepared for the future, making especially good progress in science, due to the school’s specialist Science College status.
The activities teachers provide capture students’ interest, leading to students showing good attitudes towards learning. Positive relationships between teachers and students create a school which is characterised by an atmosphere of energy and enthusiasm. Inspectors said that the behaviour of students is good both in and out of lessons.
Inspectors commended the care guidance and support offered to students, stating that this is a strength of the school; they also commented that students with a statement of special educational needs make good and sometimes outstanding progress at Hethersett High.
Leaders and managers of the school show energy and ambition, know the school’s precise strengths and weaknesses, and demonstrate the school’s good capacity to sustain the improvements being made.
What the parents thought.
95% of the large number of parents and carers who responded to the Ofsted questionnaire agreed that their child enjoys being at Hethersett High School and Science College.
The school is very pleased that the inspection team recognises the progress the school is making and that the majority of specific judgements were “good”. I strongly urge you all to read the full report by following the “OFSTED” link in the blue bar on the left hand side of this page.
