High School Celebrates

Hethersett High School is celebrating the success of its students following the publication of the latest secondary school league tables.

Results show the school to be one of the top state funded schools in the county with students making outstanding progress.

The tables place Hethersett High seventh in the county for the percentage of students achieving GCSE grades A* to C in all subjects including English and Maths (70% in 2011 compared with 58% the previous year), second for the percentage of students achieving grades A* to C in English Baccalaureate subjects which include English, Maths, sciences, a language and humanities, eighth for progress in English and third for progress in Maths with 85% of pupils making expected progress in both subjects.

“We are well aware that League tables only show one aspect of a school’s work, however they do show the progress we are making as a school and celebrate the success of our students. We are now one of the top state funded schools in the county with students making outstanding  progress,” said Head Kerry Jordan.

“I would like to congratulate last year’s Year 11 students and thank the staff who work so hard to help ensure that every child at the school achieves their best. We look forward to celebrating the
results of our current Year 11s in August,” Ms Jordan added
