High School Celebrates Hethersett High School is
celebrating the success of its students following the publication of the
latest secondary school league tables. Results show the school to be
one of the top state funded schools in the county with students making
outstanding progress. The tables place Hethersett
High seventh in the county for the percentage of students achieving GCSE
grades A* to C in all subjects including English and Maths (70% in 2011
compared with 58% the previous year), second for the percentage of students
achieving grades A* to C in English Baccalaureate subjects which include
English, Maths, sciences, a language and humanities, eighth for progress in
English and third for progress in Maths with 85% of pupils making expected
progress in both subjects. “We are well aware that
League tables only show one aspect of a school’s work, however they do show
the progress we are making as a school and celebrate the success of our
students. We are now one of the top state funded schools in the county with
students making outstanding progress,”
said Head Kerry Jordan. “I would like to
congratulate last year’s Year 11 students and thank the staff who work so
hard to help ensure that every child at the school achieves their best. We
