Healthy Library Events

 

Members of the public will be able to learn how to book their summer holidays on-line at a special taster session being held at Hethersett Library on March 8th. 

The session is designed for those who are competent at using computers, but who need help in making the most of visiting holiday sites such as Expedia. Help will be given on how to book flights and hotels and put together tailor made holidays. Further information is available by telephoning 01603 810188. 

Hethersett library held a special wrap and rap event with eight young people taking part. They surfed the web site U-Tube to listen to music raps, wrote their own and then enjoyed eating wraps with chocolate, banana and strawberry proving popular. There was a prize of a Sam Stern signed book “Get Cooking” for the best rap and this went to Tim Lee 

Other coming events at the library include a morning of healthy food fun on Saturday 23rd February from 10.30 until noon. Aimed at children up to the age of eight, the morning will include challenges, quizzes, stories, songs and things to make. Booking is essential on 01603 810188. 

On Saturday March 1st from 10.30 a.m to noon, youngsters aged from 8 to 12 will have the chance to make Mother’s Day cards. Again places for this need to be booked.

Peas, healthy food, rap music and craft sessions have all been lined-up for youngsters at Hethersett Library over the next few weeks as part of a health and well being month.

Norfolk Library Service is celebrating Love your Library Month throughout February when visitors can find out how they can make small changes to their lives. This will also include details about various therapies, improving skills on the internet or learning how to volunteer to work in the local community.

Special events for children in Hethersett kick off on February 7th when 11 to 16 year olds are invited to Wrap ‘n’ rap from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m. 

Tickets for the event are £1.50 and available from the library. The idea is for the youngsters to enjoy eating a wrap whilst writing a rap. There will be prizes for the best raps.
