Elizabeth
Watts – New CDs now available
at Prelude Records Andrew
Cane - proprietor of Prelude Records in St Giles, Norwich, looks at two new
CDs recorded by Hethersett opera singer Elizabeth Watts. Mention this web site
when visiting the shop and you can purchase the Bach CD for £12 and the Arne
Opera double CD for £15
In
the winter of 2008, soprano Elizabeth Watts gave a concert at Hethersett
Methodist Church – an event which made a great impression on all of those
lucky enough to attend. A former Hethersett girl, Liz has now become a star in the
world of opera and song. Her
career has gone from strength to strength since winning the Song Prize at the
Cardiff Singer of the World in 2007, where she represented England in the
Final. Since then, Liz has been
much in demand throughout Europe and the USA. She
has appeared at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, was featured on the cover
of Opera Now magazine, and in
September will perform at the Royal Albert Hall.
Liz Watts
has also just released two new CD recordings, offering the chance to hear her
beautiful voice once more. Her
first CD is a lovely collection of Bach vocal pieces which is sure to appeal
widely. Her other release is an
opera by Thomas Arne, “Artaxerxes”, which she performed at Covent Garden
to great acclaim. Both
of these titles are available on Special Offer at Prelude Records -
Norwich’s Classical CD shop. The
Bach CD is £12.00 and the Arne opera (a 2 CD set) is £15.00 – but only if
you mention this article when buying! For
more information, call Andrew, Keith or Chris at Prelude Records on 01603
628319, or drop in to the shop – 25B St Giles Street, Norwich. PS Elizabeth Watts will be singing in a concert at Norwich Cathedral, on 29 October. Tickets will be on sale at Prelude Records from early March. Andrew
