Mardling

Norfolk dialect will come under the spotlight at a special evening at Hethersett Library on September 23rd.

An Evening of Mardle will feature Norman Hart who is Chairman of the Friends of Norfolk Dialect. He will speak about the history and future of Norfolk Dialect and there will be an opportunity for audience participation. The evening starts at 7.30 p.m. Entry is free but advance booking on 01603 810188 is essential.

The library is also looking to start winter monthly craft sessions following the success of a craft morning earlier this year.

“The morning proved such a success and we received so many positive comments that we would like to run some kind of craft session every month during those dreary winter days with a different craft being shown every month,” said Hethersett librarian Jennie Hoult.

Mrs Hoult is appealing to people with craft skills to contact her at the library on 01603 810188.

“It could be crochet, calligraphy, card making or any other skill. We are looking for people willing to give up one Saturday morning in the winter to help demonstrate their craft and involve others,” Mrs Hoult added.
