Methodist Church Flower Festival

Hethersett Methodist Church was awash with colour over the weekend of 10th to 12th June, 2011, thanks to a three day flower festival.

The festival took on the theme of "A Journey with Jesus" with displays reflecting his birth, life, crucifixion and resurrection.

Entering through an arching rainbow to symbolise God's promise to all living people, visitors were taken on a spiritual journey through floral arrangements put together by church members and also groups as diverse as Hethersett WI, the Norfolk Association for the Disabled, Chimes pre-school Music Group, Hethersett Methodist Church Singing Fellowship and Hethersett Society

Morning coffee, lunches and afternoon teas were provided throughout the three days, along with a very successful flower tombola which all combined to help raise funds for church refurbishment.

The weekend was rounded off by two special services. On the Sunday. Morning, worship was led by one of the festival organisers Susanna Harvey and the festival was rounded off by a special Songs of Praise service led by Sheila Drew.

The event was sponsored by a number of local businesses and organisations including Ivan Fisher Funeral Director, Business Base Ltd, Hethersett Butchers, Bartram and Son Funeral Services and St Remigius Parish Church.

Coming events in the church include an art and craft fair on October 8th and on 25th November flautist Simeon Wood will be playing live in concert
