The weather behaved itself as hundreds of people attended Hethersett Middle School’s annual spring fete organised by the school PTA.

There were numerous attractions including displays by the Chermond Gymnastic Club, tag rugby by Wymondham Rugby Club and a king fu display by the Hung Sing Martial Arts School of Norwich and Hethersett which featured a stirring dance by an exotically coloured dragon.

The school steel pans played throughout the day and youngsters took part in a special Stars in their Eyes event and also an elastic band car race. The day was rounded off with an auction of special items and a raffle and proceeds from the event will go towards upgrading and improving playground facilities. The school has recently purchases benches and outdoor toys for playtime and it is hoped to add to these before the school changes to Junior status in September.
