Norfolk League Division One - Home to Acle Seconds Hethersett
and Tas Valley made short work of beating Acle to stay top of the Norfolk
League Division One. Only
the weather threatened to halt Valley’s progress with a number of heavy
showers hampering their bid for their tenth league victory of the season. Thankfully
after tea sunshine gave them the chance to complete a nine wicket win set-up
by a solid display of bowling that saw the visitors all out for just 121 off
41.1 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat. All
five Hethersett bowlers used were on form with Dave Cosford taking 3-31, Matt
Steward 3-30 and Lee King 2-17. Hethersett
lost opener Tim Shelley cheaply before brothers Richard and Matt Ellis settled
down to push the score along with a century partnership that saw Hethersett
home with over 15 overs to spare. Richard Ellis was unbeaten on 60 and Matt
Ellis finished on 35 not out. The
win gave Hethersett another 24 points in the quest for the title and promotion
to the Norfolk Alliance. Hethersett
and Tas Valley Firsts beat Acle Seconds by nine wickets in Division One of the
Norfolk League. Acle -
