Norfolk League Division One - away to Bungay Hethersett and Tas
Valley suffered only their second Norfolk League Division One defeat of the
season when they travelled to the Waveney Valley for a difficult match against
Bungay. Hethersett stay top of
the league, however, as second placed Old Buckenham A achieved their second
tie of the season when they failed to overcome bottom side Beccles. It is getting very
tight at the top of the league with Hethersett, Old Buckenham, Aldborough,
Great Witchingham and Bungay all with a realistic chance of taking the title.
This week Hethersett have a vital home clash against Aldborough whilst Old
Buckenham play Bungay. Hethersett won the
toss against Bungay and decided to bowl – restricting the home side to 195-5
from their 45 overs – a target that should have been achievable given the
visitors, batting strength. Pick of the bowlers was Matt Steward with 2-33
from 12 overs. Hethersett fell 16
runs short of their target and were bowled out for 179 in 43.2 overs with
Simon Redhead (45) and Carl Puttock (35) being the main contributors. Hethersett and Tas Valley lost to Bungay by 16 runs in the Norfolk League Division One. Bungay -
