Norfolk League Division One - Away to Acle Hethersett and Tas
Valley continued their five star service with their fifth consecutive win
in Division One of the Norfolk League. They beat a strong
Acle side away by 11 runs to maintain their 100 per cent record. Acle won the toss
and put Hethersett into bat and opener Richard Ellis fell cheaply for just
eight. A feature of the current Hethersett side is its strength in depth
with Carl Puttock hitting 43 and Matthew Ellis 59 as he made it four half
centuries in five innings. Simon Redhead then put the Acle attack to the
sword with seven fours and three sixes in a blistering 68. Hethersett
finished on 210-6 from their 45 overs. Acle’s reply
fell 11 runs short of the target, ending on 199-6 from their 45 overs with
two batsmen being run out as they fell behind the run chase. Matt Ellis
capped a fine all round performance with 2-36 and Matt Steward captured
2-65. Hethersett and Tas
Valley Thirds made it a hat-trick of Norfolk League wins for the club for
the second successive week when they beat Old Catton by 73 runs in
Division 10. Hethersett scored 150 all out in 42.4 overs with Sam Smith
hitting 42, Tom Brandon Street 38 and Miles Kemp 22. Old Catton were
bowled out for 77 with Alex Reeder taking 4-13, Joe Brett 2-14 and
Jonathan Bunn 2-8. This week the thirds visit Norwich Union Thirds. Hethersett and Tas Valley beat Acle by 11 runs in
