Oliver's Olympic Park Date - posted October 30th, 2011
Hethersett resident and 2011 Run the Square
winner, Oliver Armstrong has won one of the 5,000 places on the 2012
Olympic Park run, meaning he will be one of the first runners to cross the
finish line at the recently completed Olympic Stadium in London! The five mile run sponsored by National Lottery,
through the Olympic Park, takes place on 31st March 2012 and finishes in the
Olympic Stadium - the first official event to take place in the 80,000
seater arena. Ollie, currently studying a Masters Degree at
Loughborough University in Sport & Exercise Science, said he is
excited and thrilled to be taking part in a "once in a lifetime
opportunity." Ollie a former Norfolk County Sprint Champion and
member of City of Norwich Athletic Club is currently training with the
Loughborough University AC. The link to the National Lottery Olympic Park Run ballot, which closed last week, was featured on the "Back the Hethersett Bid for the Olympic Flame" group site on Facebook.
