London 2012 Open Weekend London 2012 open weekend is the annual countdown celebration to the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012. Open Weekend gives everyone the chance to take part in sport, arts and cultural events across the length and breadth of the UK. Open Weekend is one of several projects aimed at adding excitement leading up to the 2012 Games and helping to create a lasting legacy. Hethersett fully embraced the weekend with what organisers stated was the largest number of events per head of population of any village, town or city in the country. This quite rightly makes us a special place. Below you can read reports and view photographs of the various events that went to make up Hethersett Open Weekend 2010.
