Philharmonic Twinning Concert

Four soloists, two conductors, a symphony orchestra and two historic choirs will come together at St Andrewís Hall, Norwich, on Sunday (27th May) for a special twinning concert hosted by the Norwich Philharmonic Society. The choir will include singers from Hethersett, Wymondham and Attleborough.

Singers from the choir of the Musik-Institut from Koblenz in Germany will be joining the Norwich Philharmonic chorus and orchestra for the latest in a long established series of musical exchanges between the twin cities.

The concert, which starts at 7.30 p.m, will include Schubertís Rosamunde Overture and Mass in A Flat and Beethovenís Eighth Symphony.

Soloists will be Pamela Hay (soprano), Lucy Ballard (mezzo-soprano), James Atherton (tenor) and Olle Zetterstrom (bass). Conductors will be Tom Seligman and David Dunnett.

A total of 150 singers will take part in the concert with the Koblenz contingent arriving in Norwich on Friday ahead of the first rehearsal that evening.

Tickets are priced between £9.50 and £13.50 and are available from Prelude Records in Norwich or can be booked via the telephone on 01603 628319.
