Soccer Re-Union Twenty years on from being the first Hethersett football team to win a County Cup, players and friends of the now defunct club were re-united for an evening organised by former chairman Steve Beck. In 1984 Hethersett won the Norfolk Sunday Junior Cup by beating Seething Sunday 3-1 in the final after a 1-1 draw. The following year the club were beaten finalists, losing 2-1 to Hotel Wroxham at Carrow Road. During the period from 1982 to 1986, Hethersett climbed from Division Nine to Division Five of the Norwich Sunday League. The evening raised £285 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Players travelled from as far afield as Oxford for the re-union. The club is entirely separate from the present Hethersett Athletic Club which last season were beaten finalists at Carrow Road in the Norfolk Sunday Senior Club. Hethersett Athletic are in the Premier Division of the Norwich Sunday League/ |
