Bumper Entry Over 200 entries were received for the 2009 children's road safety poster competition organised by Hethersett and the Meltons Road Safety Committee. The judging is over. the prizes will shortly be distributed and a display will be mounted in Hethersett Library. This year once again the entries were of a very high standard with youngsters from the age of four to 10 taking part. The competition was divided into age ranges. Schools taking part were Hethersett Junior School, Hethersett Woodside School, Little Melton School and Hethersett Old Hall School. Themes included road crossing safety, cycle safety and dangers from speeding. In all 21 winners will each receive book token prizes. The road safety committee is looking to organise an information and safety event for mobility scooter users and prospective users in the autumn. A venue is still to be sorted out but it is likely to take place in Hethersett.
