Social Club's Annual Open Day 2009 Chris Yemm from Hethersett Social Club looks back on a very successful 2009 open day. OPEN DAY – SATURDAY 25th
JULY 2009 An extremely successful day
with bright sunny skies, lasting all day and well into the evening, enabling
visitors to sit outside on our patio area and enjoy the sunshine.
The BBQ, open from early morning until 10.00pm, was well supported and
everyone enjoyed the food including burgers, bacon, hot dogs with jacket
potatoes and chilli. We welcomed teams from all
over Norfolk for the Bowls Tournament on our green, which is classed as one of
the best in the area, and also teams taking part in the Darts Tournament in
the hall. Throughout the day we
saw a great turnout of new visitors including twenty two new members for the
Club. The children enjoyed the games
on our outside play area and our cake stall sold out early in the day. The evening entertainment was
a “dog racing” evening which proved a very lively affair with everyone
supporting their chosen dog rather loudly. The whole day can be summed up
by a comment from one lady who joined during the day, arriving in the morning
and leaving late evening - “I’ve had
a lovely day and really enjoyed myself, I cannot remember having such a good
time – thank you for making us welcome” Proving that Hethersett Social Club has a great deal to offer for all ages, so why not call in and see for yourself or take a look at our new website at: www.hethersettsocialclub.co.uk – you will be pleasantly surprised at our facilities. This year's trip will be to Cambridge including cream tea and boat trip on Tuesday 1st September - then back to Club for fish and chips and live entertainment. Tickets still available at a cost of £25. Please see notice board in Club for full details.
