Clubs and Societies Event
was something for all ages when clubs and societies from Hethersett got
together to promote themselves in the village hall.
Thirty groups covering
various aspects of village life were represented at the clubs and
societies day organised by Hethersett Parish Council.
The parish church,
Baptist and Methodist churches, sports clubs including Hethersett Athletic
Football Club and Crusaders Rugby Club, the pantomime and drama groups,
Hethersett Singers, the Macmillan Cancer Charity, Hethersett Social Club
and Ducklings Playgroup were just some of the groups proving that
Hethersett is a very diverse village with something for everyone. Village
archivist Bill Reekie was also on hand to chat about village history.
“The day was designed
to give the public a chance to chat with members of the various groups and
find out what is available in Hethersett,” said parish clerk Ian Weetman.
A steady stream of people visited the event which ran from 11 a.m until 4 p.m. Refreshments were provided throughout the day by Hethersett WI. In the picture above Jenny and Duncan Pigg oversee the pantomime pitch.
