Sport in the Park It is estimated that over 1,000 people attended the sport in the park event on Saturday, July 24th, 2010. Members of the public of all ages were able to try their hand at a large number of sports from bowls and badminton to tennis and football. Martial arts, tug of war, hockey, golf and cycle speedway were just some of the other sports on display at the free event. You can view a photographic album of the day by clicking here. The day was just one of the events of the Hethersett London 2012 Open Weekend and prved a day for the whole family with a fete style feeling. Sport in the Park was one of the major highlights in three days of celebration in Hethersett in support of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is hoped that the event will leave a lasting sporting legacy in the village for the future and could be repeated in 2011 as part of next year's celebrations.
