Super Sixes

Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club held another highly successful summer bank holiday super sixes tournament at Flordon.

The all day event featured both club teams and sides from further afield including the winners from the past two seasons – Garboldisham and a team from Rollesby.

After the group stages and semi-finals it was teams from Hethersett and Garboldisham who contested the final of the event which pitted six-a-side teams against each other in five over games.

Garboldisham batted first and notched 50-4 from their five overs. The Hethersett side (strangely named Duncan’s Donkeys) made short work of the target with John Curtis in blistering form as he led his team to 51-0 with the luxury of four balls remaining.

The annual event is the club’s main fund-raiser and a barbecue, raffle and a variety fo other fund-raisers raised over £730. The winning team is pictured above.
