Cricket for All

Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club will be running a fourth Saturday team in the 2013 season.

The decision to field an additional side was taken at the club’s annual meeting when members adopted the aim of “cricket for all.” The fourth eleven will be a mixture of club youngsters and senior players and will play in the newly formed Division Eight of the Norfolk League with the club’s third team moving up to Division Six. Once again the club’s top two teams will play in the Norfolk Alliance in Division Two and Four respectively. Consequently the club is looking for new players of all ages. Anybody interested should contact secretary Richard Ellis at richard.ellis31@tesco.net

The club will also be fielding youth teams at Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 levels with the first mentioned playing in the Norfolk Alliance Youth League and the others in the South Norfolk Cricket League.

The club decided to set-up a new executive committee, along with development and social sub committees to deal with an increased workload.

Tony Smith was re-elected chair with Richard Matthews replacing David Johnson as vice-chair. Mr Johnson was thanked for his years of service and elected as one of two new honorary vice-presidents along with Harold Kerslake.
