If You Went Down to the Woods

If you went down to Hethersett Old Hall School woods, you wouldn’t believe your eyes! The sun shone on the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic as children under the age of seven were invited to come along with their Teddy Bears to enjoy a picnic and some of the afternoon’s activities. Big brothers and sisters were also invited along with mums and dads, families and friends.

The woods were filled with children clutching striped candy bags collecting clues on the treasure trail. Matilda Kelly (pictured above) won her very own Hethersett Old Hall School Teddy Bear for naming the giant teddy bear. Bertie the Bear thanked all the children for helping to name him with a gift from his basket of goodies. Other activities included face painting, football skills and biscuit decorating. Visitors were also treated to strawberries and cream after they had enjoyed their own picnic.

Stephen Crump, Headmaster, commented: ‘Here at Hethersett Old Hall School we are lucky to have a really lovely environment where, as our recent inspection report phrased it ‘pupils enjoy the freedom of childhood’. We were delighted to welcome the wider community to share a warm summer’s afternoon amongst our lawns and trees. We feel our annual Teddy Bear event is fast becoming a popular part of the local calendar.’
