Appeal after vandalism The parish council has appealed for villagers to report any vandalism they witness. In their latest newsletter, the council states that there has been a number of incidents of vandalism in the village and it has recently been faced with a bill for £1,000 to refurbish the play area on the Memorial Playing Field. "Vandalism affects us all, either directly or indirectly via a potential increase in the Parish precept and therefore to council tax," the newsletter warns, adding that anyone with information as to who is responsible should pass it on to the Police. There have also been a number of thefts from changing rooms on the Memorial Field during Hethersett Athletic football matches. Thieves have entered the dressing rooms and stolen cash and other valuables. |
