Going Wild
Children in Hethersett will be taking part in the
Big Wild Read event this summer. Hethersett Library is taking part in the
county-wide initiative designed to inspire children to read and engage
with nature by offering themed stories, competitions and a variety of
events. Youngsters taking part will receive a folder,
scratch and sniff stickers, fridge magnets and a packet of seeds when
they borrow books. Children taking part will aim to either read or
have read to them six books during the summer and those completing the
Big Wild Read will be presented with a certificate and medal to mark
their achievement. The Big Wild Read is part of a national Reading Agency campaign being run in partnership with the BBC and the Woodland Trust. It is hoped it will not only inspire children to read but also make a positive contribution to the environment.
