A Wonderful Place to Live - Official
Hethersett has been chosen as one of the best places to live in the county. The village has been shortlisted for the Eastern Daily Press Pride of Norfolk Community Awards. The competition (previously known as Norfolk's Best Kept Village contest) is divided into five separate sections with four communities shortlisted in each. Hethersett has been nominated in the over 5,000 category where it will come up against the market towns of Dereham and Thetford and the Norwich dormitory of Old Catton. The awards will be judged in either May or June but being shortlisted is already confirmation of the quality of life and community spirit of our village. The judges have already commented that the standard of entries in the category was very high. Awards will be presented in September with the overall Norfolk winner going forward to the national competition. The Eastern Daily Press newspaper had this to say: The competition aims to reflect involvement in communities. It is refreshing that there are still so many people prepared to make a real contribution to their community, whether hamlet, village or town."
