Rainbow Theme Well Chosen

When Woodside Infant School, Hethersett, decided to use a rainbow as their theme for their annual summer fair  they must have had secret information about the weather.

For the day proved to be a real mixture of sunshine and showers with many of the events, such as the colourful hat parade, having to be held indoors due to one of many heavy downpours.

Spirits weren’t dampened, however, with the event also including singing and dancing by year one and two pupils, a grand prize draw, cake stalls and barbecue.

The fair was officially opened by new Head teacher Nicola Cushion and the event was organised by the Friends of Woodside School who this year have already purchased new indoor PE equipment, set up a gardening area and sponsored a puppet show for the children.

“I am very excited to be part of the event during my first year as Headteacher at the school. I have found the team spirit at Woodside fantastic and look forward to many new and wonderful events in the coming months and years,” Nicola Cushion said.

Meanwhile the Friends group is looking for more volunteers with a number of long standing members stepping down at the coming annual meeting in October.
