Your Votes Will Count

A Hethersett-based dance school are challenging for a £1,000 prize after performing outside Norwich Forum at the weekend.

Senior dancers from the Yvonne School of Dance wowed the crowds on a wet Saturday with two tap routines as part of a national competition sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Ten dance acts took part in the competition in front of a panel of judges that included Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole. These were reduced to five with the prize going to the act that receives the greatest number of votes via the internet site www.barclayslive.co.uk

The nine “tappers” from Hethersett danced to swing numbers “Choo Choo Cha Boogie” and “Hit the Road Jack” Videos of the performances of the top five Norwich acts can be viewed on the Barclays Live web site.

The Barclays Live event is taking place throughout the UK, looking for the country’s hottest new dance acts. If the Hethersett dancers are successful the prize money will be put towards costumes for next year’s dance spectacular at Norwich Theatre Royal and also help with their charity work.
